Good morning everyone! This is Fr. Sistare. I just wanted to give you a little update on what is going on here at the parish with regards to the snowstorm. There is still a "travel ban" in RI on our streets. There have only been a few vehicles on the roads here near St. Clare's, and some of the side streets are not plowed yet. Our parking lot here is not plowed yet, and the electricity has been out, which means that the heat in the church is not working as well as some of the lights in the church. Thanks be to God, through the generator here, I do have heat and electricity in the Rectory, and some of the lights in the church are also connected to the generator. I have celebrated Mass privately in the church yesterday and today. The Rectory office has been closed yesterday and today. I'm hoping that we can open tomorrow, as well as have the 8am Mass in the church, but this will all depend on the electricity coming back, as well as the snow being plowed in the parking lot. Forgive me for not sending this "Flocknote" sooner, but I was still trying to figure out how to use it. God bless, and stay safe!

I have some good news to report. Around 11:00 this morning, the electricity went back on, which means the church has heat again, and all the lights are working. Around 5pm, workers from "Coastal Companies" came and shoveled around the whole property. I'm just waiting now for the plow to come and do the whole parking lot. I'm assuming that will be done before the morning Mass tomorrow at 8am. If this doesn't happen, I'll make sure to update everyone in the morning around 7am. God bless!

I just received the following message from Coastal Companies, who does oursnowremovalhere at the parish of St. Clare's: "Due to the amount of snow in the lot our trucks have no been able to plow the lots successfully so we have been bringing machinery onsite such as skid steers. We had to pull our crews off the road during the blizzard due to safety concerns and the snow got out of control. Our crew will be onsite at 8am this morning. They have been making their rounds and you are first on the list this morning. Due to running the machinery it is taking us extra time to get the sites cleaned up but it will be cleaned up this morning!". With that being said, I will be offering the Mass but there is no place to park your car right now. I do still hope to open the office from 10am-12pm today, because by then, the parking lot should be cleared.
